1.
Prepare a minimum 10 American Wire Gauge (AWG) grounding wire
terminated by a crimped two-hole lug with hole diameter and spacing as
shown in the below figure. Use a suitable crimping tool to fasten the lug
securely to the wire. Adhere to your company’s policy as to the wire gauge
and the number of crimps on the lug.

3-4: Compression grounding lug
For a DC system, use a grounding wire of at least 10 AWG. Attach the
10 AWG wire to an agency-approved crimp connector. The crimp
connector allows securing both ground screws on the enclosure.
For the DC input circuit to the system, make sure there is a Listed 30
amp circuit, minimum -48Vdc, double pole, on the input to the terminal
block. The input wiring for connection to the product should be Listed
copper wire, 0 AWG, marked VW-1, and rated minimum 90 degrees C.
2.
Remove the bolts and spring-washers from the grounding posts (either on
the front panel or the rear panel) and clean the metal surface underneath
with a dry cloth.
3.
Apply some anti-oxidant onto the metal surface.
4.
Mount the lug on the two grounding posts, replace the spring-washers and
fasten the bolts. Avoid using excessive torque.
5.
Connect the grounding wire to reliable ground. If the device is mounted in
a rack, use a common ground for all devices on the rack, according to your
company’s policy.
