Assembling
Drive shaft
1. Stand engine upright on a level surface.
2. Fit drive shaft assembly ensuring that the drive shaft is correctly engaged.
3. Tighten four bolts (M5×20) to fasten drive shaft assembly.
Handle
CAUTION
Install the handle so that it does not hide any of the safety decals.
1. Loosen handle bar support bolts.
2. Locate handle bar in a comfortable operating position and tighten four bolts (M5×25).
Throttle cable
CAUTION
After assembly, adjust the play of wire end on carburettor side to 1 - 2 mm.
As the engine is delivered with throttle cable (engine side) separated, assemble the
cable to carburettor as follows.
1. Loose nut from throttle cable.
2. Insert throttle cable through the bracket as shown.
3. Replace nut fi nger tight, install the cable cap and attach the inner cable to swivel
on throttle lever.
4. Connect the stop lead.
5. Tighten nut to secure in this position.
6. Check that throttle operates freely and returns to idle position.
Installation of shield
• Be sure to install the shield onto shaft tube before operation.
Operation without shield can lead to serious injury.
• Install the shield as follows.
1. Match tightening boss of angle transmission with shield.
2. Cramp shaft tube with bracket from above and drive two bolts (M6×28) through
into the threaded holes of the shield and tighten the bolts.
3. Install the clog prevention plate with three screws (M5×20).
