VxD Console – Mia and Mia MIDI
This section only applies if you installed the VxD drivers and are using Mia or
MiaMIDI.
A “virtual control surface” application called the Console is included with the VxD
driver. Every time you start Windows you will see it flicker across the screen as it
loads. Then it will minimize itself to the taskbar. The Console allows you to
control the audio I/O and clocking functions of Mia/MiaMIDI, and it brings these
controls to a single easy-to-use location. From the console you can mix the virtual
outputs, control the output levels, select clocks, and adjust input monitoring.
The Console software was automatically installed at the same time that you
installed the Mia/MiaMIDI driver for Windows 98/Me. If installation was
successful, you should see a blue capital letter
M
in your Windows 98/Me taskbar
(typically in the bottom right-hand corner of your screen). Double- clicking on the
“
M
” will activate the console program. It should look like this:
