5-1 Inspecting clutch parts (continued)
4. Rotate clutch assembly (F) clockwise by hand
until it cannot be rotated further.
5. Loosen clutch assembly (Left-hand thread) ro-
tating clockwise with wrench (G) and remove it.
NOTE:
Do not use power tools. Otherwise, piston
damage may occur.
6. Remove clutch plate (H), clutch drum (J), needle
bearing (K).
7. Inspect matching surfaces of clutch hub (L) and
clutch shoes (M). If their clearances are large, re-
place with new parts.
8. Inspect circumuferences (m1) and holes (m2)
hooked springs (N) for wear. Replace with new
parts as required.
9. Inspect clutch plate (H) for wear. Replace with
new one as required.
10. Inspect springs (N) for weakness or damage.
Replace with new parts as required.
11. Inspect clutch drum (J) and it’s sprocket (j). Re-
place with new one if deformed or worn out. (Refer
to “1-5 Servise limits” )
12. Inspect needle bearing (K) for damage, discol-
oration or deformation. Replace with new one as
required.
