9-1 Replacing lifting hook
NOTE
: Before replacing lifting hook, inspect air
cleaner cover, lifting hook bracket and rear handle.
Replace them if broken or damaged.
{Inspecting air cleaner cover}
1. Turn lifting hook down to the end.
2. Unlatch air cleaner cover latch with screw driver
or equivalent.
3. Turn up air cleaner cover and inspect guide rib
part (A) on air cleaner cover (B) and replace it with
new one if broken or deformed.
{Inspecting rear handle}
4. Inspect hook guide area (C) on rear handle (D)
and replace it if broken or deformed. (Refer to “9-4
Replacing rear handle and springs”)
{Inspecting lifting hook bracket}
5. Lifting hook bracket (E) is installed rear handle
(D) as shown. If the following defects are found,
reinstall it or replace with new one.
(1) When lifting hook bracket (E) was broken,
deformed or pulled out easily by fingers, replace
lifting hook bracket and rear handle with new one.
(Refer to “9-4 Replacing rear handle and springs”).
NOTE
: Lifting hook bracket is supplied along with
rear handle. They are not supplied separately.
(2) When ends of lifting hook bracket (E) were in-
stalled incorrectly as shown in “Defect”, push both
end of lifting hook bracket (E) into rear handle until
crick sound is heard.
