CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Cleaning the freezer
•
Unplug the power cord before cleaning the freezer.
•
Use a sponge or cloth dampened in a mild solution of warm water and detergent. Do not use aggressive
or abrasive cleaners.
•
Wipe all surfaces thoroughly and dry carefully.
•
Do not use cleaning waxes, concentrated detergents, bleaches or cleaners containing gasoline on plastic
and rubber parts.
•
Never use paper towels, window cleaners, cleaning powders or flammable liquids on plastic parts that
could scratch or otherwise damage the finish.
Defrosting
•
Unplug the power cord, open the freezer door and move all food to a cool place.
•
Remove ice with a plastic spatula or allow the temperature to rise naturally enough for the ice to melt.
•
Then wipe off the remaining ice and water and plug the power cord back in.
Note:
To prevent damage to the walls of the freezer compartment, do not use any sharp objects to defrost and
separate frozen food.
Long-term shutdown
If you do not intend to use the freezer for a longer period of time, proceed as follows:
•
Pull the plug out of the outlet to disconnect the freezer from the power supply.
•
Clean and dry the inside of the freezer as described in the "Cleaning the freezer" section.
•
Leave the freezer door open to prevent unpleasant odors in the unused freezer.
TROUBLESHOOTING
You can solve a number of common problems on your own. If the refrigerator is not working properly, check
the following points before calling a service technician:
The freezer does not work
•
The power cord is disconnected.
The door cannot be closed completely
•
The drawers are not fully inserted in place.
•
The seals are dirty.
•
The freezer is not in a horizontal position.
Noisy freezer
•
Make sure that the freezer is in a horizontal position and does not touch other appliances or kitchen
furniture.
The freezing in the freezer is insufficient
•
If the door has been opened for too long or too often, it will take some time for the freezer to reach the
set temperature.
•
Check that the airflow is not restricted behind the freezer due to insufficient distance from the wall.
The following is neither a malfunction nor a problem.
•
Bubbling noises caused by refrigerant flowing in the piping.
•
High compressor operating temperature.
USE AND DISPOSAL OF WASTE
