5.4  Connection Battery nLLK 15 LED N
1/6

The battery is cut of for delivering. Connect the
battery before taking into operation.

Open the second reflector flap. (fig. 3)

fasten unplugged battery wire. (fig. 4-6)
securely onto the connector.

Observe the polarity of the Battery. (fig 5)

5.5  Connection Battery

nLLK 15 LED N   2/6

The battery is cut of for delivering. Connect the
battery before taking into operation:

Open the light fitting protective bowl

before opening the battery compartment.
This interrupts the emergency lighting circuit.

Unscrew the battery compartment cover
(fig. 14).

Connect cables on the connectors.

Close battery-box in reverse order.

5.6  Fitting the lamps

Only use LED tubes that have been

certified for these light fittings, see Technical
data and type label!

The LED tubes (G5) is to be inserted to its stop
into the marked holders so that both pins on
either side of the lamp engage in the holder.
Only the holders on this side are wired with
connecting wires.

Insert the cable entries of the LED - tubes into
the socket use it in an opposite side.

The lamp is to be inserted to its stop into both
holders, so that both pins on either side of the
lamp engage in the holder.

Then turn the lamp to its  lock-in position, see
fig. 22 and fig. 23.

If the LED tubes are inserted with swapped
ends, there is no function.

Observe the emission direction of the LED
tubes.

Lamp exchange must be carried out while

energy is switched off.
Option:
Variation with double-pole switch:
Automatic cut off with double-pole switch
while opening the protective bowl.

6.  Taking into operation

-   Prior to operation, check the light fitting for

its proper functioning and installation in
compliance with these operating instructions
and other applicable regulations!

Only carry out insulation measurements
between PE and the external conductor
L1(L,L2,L3) as well as between PE and N!
- measuring voltage:   max. 1 kV AC/DC
- measuring current:   max. 10 mA

Only operate the light fitting with complete
closed protective bowl.

The battery is not complete full charged in
delivery condition.

To balancing the LED display to the battery
capacity, the battery have to be  charged 14
h before the first operation.

After that, release a function test of the
emergency light connection, see 7.1.1.
Maintenance, function test.

7. Function

7.1

Emergency operation

The duration of the emergency operation is
factory side fixed and can not be adjusted.

The emergency operation will automatically
stated when mains supply failed or the charging
line L is switched off. The green marked
emergency lamp will operate on battery mode.

7.1.1  Function test emergency light

Switch off the mains supply from light fitting.

The emergency lamp will operate.

A function test should not exceed the following

test periods:

Battery set for 1,5 h emergency light:   60 min.
Battery set for 3,0 h emergency light: 120 min.

Should the emergency lamp be extinguished
within the test period though the battery is fully
charged, the latter will have to be replaced by a
new battery set.

7.2 Charging

At temperatures below  -5°C and above +35°C
the battery will not be fully charged for
electrochemical reasons.

Note: New batteries will reach their total useful
capacity only after 3 charging/discharging cycles.

8.   Maintenance

Observe the national regulations

applicable to the   maintenance, servicing and
test of electrical apparatus as well as the
general rules of engineering
(e.g. IEC/EN 60079-17, IEC/EN 60079-19)!

8.1 Servicing

When servicing, in particular those components
that affect the type of protection, will have to be
checked, e.g.:

-   Housing and protective bowl for any cracks

or damages.

-   Gaskets for their perfect condition.

-   Terminals and blanking plugs for their firm fit.

Because of the risk of an electrostatic

charge, the light fitting shall only be cleaned
with a damp cloth or sponge!
Only use customary household washing-up
liquid diluted in water as specified! The water
temperature may be max. 50ºC. After that,
rinse with clear water to prevent the risk of
tension cracks in the protective bowl!

Lamp replacement: Keep replacement intervals
as specified by the lamp manufacturer!

9. Repair

Prior to replacing or removing any

components, observe the following:
Disconnect the power supply to the equip-
ment before maintenance / repair.
Disconnect the power supply to the equip-
ment before maintenance / repair.
Only use certified genuine CCH / EATON spare
parts! (See CCH / EATON spare parts list).

Lamp exchange must be carried out while

energy is switched off.

Option:
Variation with double-pole switch:
Automatic cut off with double-pole switch
while opening the protective bowl.
9.1  Battery change general

Transport the battery only in original

packing through potentially  zones 2/22  with
explosive atmospheres.
Protect against shocks.

Prior to opening the enclosure, it is necessary
to ensure that the voltage supply has been
isolated.

Only use certified genuine CCH / EATON
spare parts.
