Retraction
Cylinder does not retract,
retracts too slow or
retracts in spurts
Oil flow to cylinder is
blocked Check couplings and valves are
correctly connected, fully tightened
and valves are functioning properly.
Air trapped in system Remove air from system (read
§5.6)
No cause can be
found or no technical
knowledge available
to correct problem. Have equipment serviced by an
authorised EATON service centre.
Inside diameter of
the hose is too small. Use a hydraulic hose with a wider
inside diameter. Contact Eaton for
spare parts.
Side load due to
misalignment
between cylinder and
load Check alignment of rod with load
Check if side load does not exceed
design variables.
Oil pressure in
system is too low Add oil to hydraulic system
Check couplings and valves
System
contaminated Check wiper. Protect piston rod
area from direct contact with
contaminator.
Clean and flush the entire hydraulic
system.
When cylinder is contaminated the
cylinder must be cleaned and
resealed
Check filters and connections.
