Step 5: Refit front cover

1.  Make sure the internal gasket is fitted

correctly.

2.  IMPORTANT: Force the top edge of the cover

behind the two tabs located along the top

edge of the mounting base, so that the hinge

on the cover engages into the slot in the

mounting base.

3.  Close the cover, making sure the side tabs

engage correctly.

4.  Refit the front screw.

Step 6: Perform a walk test

From the Installer menu, choose

Test, Walk Test to

check that the detector is aligned correctly.

Masking

You can mask off areas you do not want to

monitor using the sliding curtains or masking

sticker, as described next.

Sliding curtains

The detector module is fitted with two sliding

curtains, which you can use to reduce the

detection angle. An additional set of curtains is

provided should the detection angle need to be

reduced further.

The curtains are fitted as shown in Figure 6. Each

section of the detector lens gives a detection

pattern of approximately 10 degrees.

Figure 6.  Fitting the curtains

Masking sticker

You can use the self-adhesive sticker in addition

to, or instead of, the curtains. To use the sticker:

1.  Study carefully how the lens fits into the

frames - you will need to make sure it is

refitted in exactly the same way.

2.  Remove the lens by hand from the front. Do

not use tools.

3.  Cut portions from the sticker and apply them

to the rear (smooth) side of the lens.

4.  Refit the lens, making sure it is fitted

correctly into the frames and the correct way

up (the top of the lens has a small notch).

CAUTION: Do not put pressure on the

wireless PCB, otherwise damage may result.

Local programming options

You can program the settings shown in the

To view current settings

1.  Press the button once to access the range

option, or twice for pulse count.

2.  Count the number of rapid flashes of the

LED. One set of flashes indicates the first

setting in the above table is being used, two

sets indicates the second setting, and three

the third (if applicable).

3.  Wait for a second or two (do not press the

button) until you see a double-flash. This

signals end of programming mode.

To change a setting

Repeat the above process many times until you

are confident that you know how to access each

option and determine its current setting. When

you are ready to change a setting, repeat the
