3. Conformity with standards
This explosion protected light fitting is conform
to the standards specified in the EU-Declaration
of conformity, enclosed separately.
The light fitting is suitable for use in hazardous
areas of zones 2 and 22 according
IEC/EN 60079-10-1 and IEC/EN 60079-10-2.
References to standards and directives in these
operating instructions always relate to the latest
version. Other additions (e.g. details relating to
the year) shall be observed.
4. Special functional features
Charging the battery
In mains operation the light fitting is charged by
means of a constant current charger. Charging
takes place via the unswitched external phase L
to prevent an interruption, even when the
luminaire is switched off.
With regular operation of the light fitting the
charging current is measured so that a flat
battery will have obtained approx. 90 % of its
rated capacity within 14 h. It is suitable for a
continuous charge of the battery.
In emergency operation a deep discharge
protection with reclosure preventing device
monitors the battery voltage and prevents the
accumulators’ deep discharge.
System modes
When voltage applies, the lamps in the light
fitting can be switched on and off with the light
switch.
5. Installation
Observe the respective national regula-
tions as well as the general rules of engineer-
ing which apply to the installation and
operation of electrical apparatus! Transport
and storage of the luminaire is permitted in
original packing and specified position only!
Caution!
If the light aperture is pointing upwards,
additional protection measures must be
implemented to prevent the steady build up
of water in the bowl seal area.
In special environment condition it could be
necessary to use a breathing and drainage
plug (GHG960 1954 R0002)!
Mind:
For handrail mounting (e.g. mounted at 45°) we
recommend replacing the existing cover of the
locking bolt with the version part no 22216904000.
In such a case the cover should be fixed with its
hinges on the top part of the housing.
Due to the high ingress protection condensation
cannot be avoided completely. Therefore we
recommend the use of a breather plug in
outdoor areas with high humidity and high
ambient temperatures.
(e.g. M20 order no. GHG9601954R0014 or
M25 order no. GHG9601954R0002)
5.1 Opening and closing the light fitting
-
Turn the central locking device with a box
spanner (opening of the spanner SW 13)
through 90° to its lock-in position and fold
down the protective bowl, see fig. 17
If an unsuitable tool is used, frictional
turning of the central locking device can not
be guaranteed and the device may be
damaged.
-
Fit in and remove the protective bowl acc. to
fig. 20 and 21.
-
The protective bowl can, at option, be hinged
on either side.
-
To close the light fitting, press the protective
bowl tightly onto the luminaire housing and
turn the central locking device through 90°.
5.2 Mounting dimensions
see fig. 2 and 10.
When fixing the mounting accessories onto the
light fitting, observe the
max. depth of thread
of 14 mm (5 Nm)!
Do not use too long screws!
Installing the light output upwards
additional protection has to be assembled to
avoid permanent water accumulations at the
protective bowl gasket area.
Accessories for mounting
See CCH / EATON catalogue.
5.3 Mains connection nLLK 15 LED N
To open the connection box, turn the green
handle to its stop in the direction of arrow, then
pull it and fold down the flap, see fig. 18 and 19.
-
Observe the isolation inside the light fittings
acc. to (IEC/EN 60644, IEC/EN 60598-1,
IEC/EN 60079-0 / 6.1 remark 3)
-
Flexible cables shall be used with trum-
pet-shaped cable glands or other suitable
entries with additional pull-relief. (min.
protection IP66)
Generally, only certified cable entries and
blanking plugs may be used (acc. to 2014/34/EU).
To ensure the type of protection, only use
cable entries with a protection IP66.
The corresponding manufacturer’s
Operating Manual must be observed.
In case of unused cable entries, remove
their protective cover and close the entries
with a blanking plug (test-torque of 2,6 Nm).
When closing the gland with a blanking
plug, always use both sealing inserts
(min. protection IP66)!
Unused drilling holes shall be closed with a
certified screw plug. (min. protection IP66)
For power connection, use cables with copper
conductor.
-
Introduce the cable through the cable entry,
see fig. 19.
-
Use sealing inserts
1,2 and 3 for cables from 8 to 10 mm Ø,
sealing inserts 1 and 2 for cables
from 10 to 13 mm Ø and sealing insert 1
for cables from 13.5 to 17.5 mm Ø.
Pay attention to the proper fit of the sealing
insert remaining in the cable gland.
In order to ensure the required minimum
protection category (IP 66), the cable entries
will have to be tightened down.
-
Connect the conductors to the terminals
PE, N, L1, L, (L2, L3) in accordance with the
terminal marking (see wiring diagram, fig 1
and fig.9).
stripping length 2.5 mm²: 8 - 9 mm.
The charging conductor L and the
luminaire’s mains connection must always be
connected to the same external conductor of
the mains supply!
-
If multi- or fine-wire connecting cables are
used, the wire ends will have to be handled
in acc. with the applicable national and
international rules. (e.g. use of sleeves for
strands).
When screw-terminals are used also tighten
vacant terminals! With single connection of the
terminal no bending (loop) of the conductor
required!
In order to maintain the explosion
category, the conductors will have to be
connected with special care.
The insulation shall reach up to terminal.
The conductor itself must not be damaged.
