• Don’t hook up the ¼’’ copper tubing on the top
of the cylinder heads unless using a pilot
valve.
• Fill crankcase to the center of the sight glass
with Airbase Industries Piston Air Compressor
Oil.
• Make sure there is a tube from the check valve in the tank to the unloader on the pressure switch.
This
will relieve the head pressure when the compressor stops. This will make it easier for the
motor when the compressor goes to restart.
• Size the correct pulley for your motor. When using a 3450 rpm motor use a 2 ½’’ pulley, when
using a 1750 rpm motor use a 4 ¾’’ pulley
• Install your belts. There should be a ½’’ of play in the belt tension.
• Turn on the motor and check for proper rotation. The pump must run counter clockwise when
facing the pulley side of the compressor.
The compressor pumps are equipped with intake filters that require no piping. If it necessary to pipe the
intake outdoors, see paragraph 3, “Location”
A flexible connector should be used between the compressor tank and building piping or connection to
after cooler or other similar equipment in order to minimize noise, vibration, vibration damage, and wear
and tear.
• Never install a shut-off valve, such as a glove or gate valve, between the compressor and
discharge opening and the receiver unless a safety valve is installed in the line between this valve
and the compressor.
• Never operate the pump at pressures or speeds in excess of those recommended by the
factory. (650rpm or 175 psi)
