2b. Using the thread spool pin: Remove the thread spool pin from the device as far as the
limit stop and place a spool of thread onto it.
3. Turn the hand wheel until the needle and the articulated thread pick-up are at the top.
4. Push the end of the thread through the
thread guide 1 (from right to left).
5. Guide the thread from above between
the two discs of the upper thread ten-
sion regulator and guide it through
thread guide 2 (from right to left).
6. Pull the thread through thread guide
3 in the articulated thread pick-up
(from right to left), then through thread
guide 4 (from top to bottom) and
fi
nally
through thread guide 5 (from top to bot-
tom) above the needle.
7. Guide the end of the thread from left to
right through the eye of the needle. If
necessary, use the threader to help you
(see section “Using the Threader”).
8. Lift up the presser foot lever until it engages, and guide the thread into the gap in the
presser foot.
9. Pull the thread approx. 10 cm through and place it to the back so that the end points
away from you.
Using the Threader
1. Guide the wire loop of the threader from right to left through
the eye of the needle.
2. Push the thread through the wire loop.
3. Pull the wire loop with the thread out through the eye of
the needle.
4. The thread is now threaded. Remove it from the wire loop.
