Start-up
Three 1.5 V batteries of the AA type are required for operation.
They are not supplied with the article.
Furthermore, a nail or other fastening material for hanging the
clock is needed.
From 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., the corresponding bird song will sound on the
hour. The bird songs are, however, deactivated during the night. To
ensure that the bird songs will sound at the designated times, carry
out the following steps in the order indicated:
1. Check whether the contacts in the battery compartments (
3
,
4
)
and on the batteries are clean, and clean them if necessary.
2. Set the clock’s hour and minute hands to 5:45 using the adjust-
ment wheel (
7
).
3. Insert two 1.5 V batteries, AA type, into the loudspeaker battery
compartment (
4
). Ensure the correct polarity (+ / –).
4. Insert one 1.5 V battery, AA, type into the cockwork battery com-
partment (
3
). Ensure the correct polarity (+ / –).
5. Set the current time with the adjustment wheel. In the process,
move the hour and minute hands clockwise.
NOTE:
The clock
operates in 24-hour mode and starts at 0:00 a.m. If time after
12:00 p.m. is to be set the small hand must pass 12:00.
If the correct bird song will not sound, repeat steps 2 to 5.
If the performance of the article diminishes, replace the batteries.
