Flowmeter Assembly
The flowmeter assembly is comprised of parts 3, 4 and 5 from Figure 1.
IMPORTANT
It is essential
that the downstream tubing assembly (5” long) connect to the flowmeter
port nearest
the arrow on the flowmeter. The upstream tubing assembly (10” long)
connects to the flowmeter port furthest from the arrow. See Figure 1.
Apply pipe joint compound to the threads (only) of the upstream and downstream tubing
assemblies. Avoid getting compound on the inside of the tubing assemblies. (Oatey “Great White”
#31230, Rectroseal “5”, or Rectroseal “T plus 2” or equivalent are recommended). To avoid
flowmeter or heat exchanger passage obstructions, do not use Teflon tape to seal these joints.
Carefully tighten the tubing assemblies into the flowmeter body until firmly sealed.
IMPORTANT
Do not over tighten the tubing assemblies into the flowmeter body. Too much
tightening force could crack the flowmeter body!
Wipe the excess pipe sealing compound from the joints.
The flowmeter assembly is now ready to become part of the final piping assembly on the
compressor unit.
Final Piping Assembly
The final piping assembly configuration will depend on the piping arrangement for the specific
installation. There are several options open to the installer. The configuration in Figure 2 illustrates
a range of orientations in two dimensions for the piping assembly and shows the parts that are
utilized. The configuration in Figure 3 illustrates a
“straight out” arrangement and the parts that are
required.
