d. When not in use, store power tools out of the reach of children. Do not allow
persons to use the device who are unfamiliar with the device or who have not
read these instructions. Power tools are dangerous when used by inexperienced
persons.
e. Take good care of the device. Ensure that moving parts of the device function
properly and do not seize, if parts are broken or are damaged, then device
function is impaired. Have the damaged parts repaired before using the tool.
Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
f. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Carefully maintained cutting tools with sharp
cutting edges seize less and are easier to control.
g. Use power tools, accessories, insertion tools etc. according to these instructions,
and in the manner prescribed for this particular device type. Give due
consideration to work conditions and the task that will be executed. Using power
tools for applications other than their intended use can lead to dangerous situations.
5. Safety instructions for hedge clippers
a. Keep all body parts away from the cutting blade. Do not attempt to remove cut
material from a running blade or hold onto material to be cut. Make sure that
the switch is turned off when removing stuck cutting material. One moment of
carelessness while using the device can lead to serious injuries.
b. Carry the hedge clipper by the handle while the blade stands still. Always
attach the protective cover when transporting or storing the device. Careful
acquaintance with the device reduces the danger of injury from the blade.
c. Hold the power tool by the insulated handle areas since the cutters can come
into contact with hidden power lines. If the cutting blade comes into contact
with live power lines, it can lead to an electric shock due to electricity being
conducted via metallic tool parts.
6. Use and treatment of the battery-powered tool
a. Only charge the battery in charging devices recommended by the manufacturer.
Using a charging device that is intended for a certain kind of battery for a different
kind of battery can cause a fire hazard.
b. Only use the intended kind of battery with your power tools. The use of other
batteries can lead to injuries and fire hazards.
c. Keep any batteries that aren’t being used away from paper clips, coins, keys,
nails, screws or other small metal objects that could cause a bridging of the
contacts. A short-circuit between the battery contacts can cause burns or fire hazards.
d. If the battery isn’t used properly, liquid may leak out of it. Avoid any contact
with it. Rinse off with water if you come into contact with it. Should any liquid
come into contact with your eyes, also consult your doctor. Leaking battery fluid
can lead to skin irritations or burns.
