4.3
How to Download Logged Data
All the logged data stored in the UFC instrument can be transferred to a USB memory stick. When a data transfer
is performed, all the data files contained in the instrument will be transferred to the memory stick and then erased
from the UFC internal memory.
The files created on the USB key have a file name that is the serial number of the instrument followed by a two
digit file number. If the USB key has a file with the same name as the file on the SD card, then the data will be
appended to the existing file, with a repeat of the header data.
This procedure describes how to download stored data.
Note: The USB key must be formatted as FAT32.
1. Insert the USB memory stick into the USB socket mounted on the lower left region of the UFC keypad.
a) The message
Transferring to USB key
will be displayed on the UFC screen.
b) The led on the USB key will flash as the data is transferred.
2. When the data transfer is completed the LED on the USB will extinguish and the message
Safe to remove
USB key
will be displayed on the UFC screen.
The logged data can be retrieved while data logging is active, but any samples that should have been taken,
between inserting the USB key and the display of the “safe to remove USB key” message, will be lost. A new
internal log file is started when transfer of data to the USB key is complete. A first sample is taken as soon as
the file is created, and the time interval starts from this logged time.
Key Point: If the USB memory stick has insufficient capacity to download all the
files, the UFC will display an error message and no file transfer will take place.
