PRODUCT SPECIFIC SAFETY WARNINGS
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be followed, including the following:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING (THIS APPLIANCE)
Failure to understand and follow all safety warnings and instructions
could result in fire, electrical shock or serious injury.
Electrical/Grounding
> Connect to a properly grounded outlet only. See
Grounding Instructions (p. 8).
> Improper connection of the equipment-grounding
conductor can result in a risk of electric shock. Check
with a qualified electrician or service person if you are in
doubt as to whether the outlet is properly grounded. Do
not modify the plug provided with the appliance – if it will
not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a
qualified electrician.
> Do NOT use outdoors or on wet surfaces.
> Do NOT use with damaged cord or plug. If appliance is
not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left
outdoors, or dropped into water, it must be serviced by a
qualified provider.
> Make sure the Main Power Switch is in the OFF position
before connecting the machine to the power source.
> Do NOT pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close
a door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners.
Do NOT run appliance over cord. Keep cord away from
heated surfaces.
> Do NOT unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp
the plug, not the cord.
> Do NOT handle plug or appliance with wet hands.
> If connected to a circuit protected by fuses, use time-delay
fuses, marked Type D, with this appliance.
> The use of extension cords is discouraged; try to position
the machine near the power source. If an extension cord
is necessary, use only three-wire extension cords that have
three-prong grounding plugs and three-pole receptacles
that accept the tool’s plug.
> Extension cords in poor condition or that are too small can
pose fire and shock hazards. When using an extension
cord, be sure it is in good condition and properly rated.
