Table 9
shows the pin configuration for all three serial communication options. The Terranova®
752A must receive input in less than or equal to 500 ms; otherwise, transmission will be voided.
For RS-232 serial communication, user will have to utilize either the Duniway cable
RS232-TN751A
or a user-supplied cable and a separate program, such as HyperTerminal, to
send query or command characters and read output. The control unit accepts single and
multiple input queries or commands via text file.

Query Characters
The following input format is used by the Terranova® 752A to output unit parameters
*
[Hexadecimal Address][Query Character]
?
[
,
{Checksum Value}]
<cr>
where the asterisk symbol (
*
) indicates the start of transmission, the question mark symbol (
?
)
tags the transmission as a query string, and the return character (
<cr>
) ends input / output
transmission. The query character is a two-letter character used to select the unit parameter to
output
–
see
Table 10
for a list of query characters. Query characters are not case-sensitive.
The hexadecimal address is a two-digit hexadecimal value from 00 to FF (or 0 to 255 in decimal
notation) used to differentiate between multiple devices. The hexadecimal address is only
necessary when the unit is configured for RS-485 serial communication
