
Adjusting the rear shock absorber
The rear shock absorber has adjusters that enable
you to suit the setting to the load on the motorcycle.
Attention
The shock absorber is filled with gas under
pressure and may cause severe damage if taken
apart by unskilled persons.
Adjuster (1) adjusts the damping during the rebound
phase (return).
Adjuster (2) adjusts the damping during the
compression phase.
Turn adjusters (1) and (2) clockwise with a 3 mm (0.12
in) Allen wrench to stiffen the damping, or counter
clockwise to soften it.
STANDARD adjustments are as follows:
- adjuster (1): open 13 clicks from fully closed
position;
- adjuster (2): open 12 clicks from fully closed
position;
- spring preload: 12 mm (0.47 in) from fully
uncompressed spring;
