What is DAB
What is DAB
DAB is a new digital format, through which you can hear crystal
clear sound in CD quality. Even in a car or train you so good,
noise-free reception. DAB broadcast uses a high-speed data
stream in the radio channel.
Unlike traditional analog radio stations in several DAB
transmitters on the same frequency emitted. This is called
ensemble or multiplexes. An ensemble consists of the radio
station as well as several service components or data services,
which are sent individually by the radio stations. Learn eg

Data Compression
Digital radio makes used the fact effects of human hearing. The
human ear perceives sounds that are below a certain minimum
volume is not true. Data that are located below the so-called
resting threshold can therefore be filtered out. This is made
possible because, in a digital data stream for each information
unit, the associated relative volume is stored with other units. In
an audio signal are also at a certain limit, the quieter portions
overlapped by the fair. All the sound information in a piece of
music, the so-called under the
Listening threshold drop can be filtered out of the signal to be
transmitted. This leads to the reduction of the transmitted
data stream, without a perceptible difference in sound for the
listener (MUSICAM) method.
Audio Stream
Audio streams are in Digital Radio continuous data streams, the
MPEG 1 Audio Layer 2 frames, and thus represent contain
acoustic information. This allows familiar and listen to radio
programs transmitted to the receiver side. Digital Radio in the
MUSICAM format is used, which provides two MPEG compliant
PADs for additional data. This is also known as PAD data
services. Digital Radio brings you not only radio in excellent
sound quality but additional information. This may relate to the
current program (eg title, artist) or regardless of his (eg news,
weather, traffic, tips).
DAB radio reception
service selection and
search
The machine automatically starts searching for a station when
it is turned on. If no station is received, "Service not available"
on the display. This means that either there is no reception, or
only very weak reception. In that case you have to change the
location.
