4. Configuring a Wi-Fi connection
For correct operation the WL2 card must have access to the Internet. To do this, connect it to the router of
the local Wi-Fi network. In the absence of a local Wi-Fi network, you can use a router with a GSM modem or
the 'router' function in the smartphone.
The card configuration should be performed using the WPS mode of the router (section 4.1.), The SMART
CONFIG method (section 4.2.) or the HOT SPOT method (section 4.3.).
4.1. WPS method
This is the fastest method of setting up a connection. Requires access to the WPS button on the router. The
router must support the WPS function.
To configure the WL2 card using the router's WPS function, proceed as follows:
Step 1
: Start the WPS function on the router using the WPS button or through the router's administration
panel.
Step 2
: After the router signals the WPS function, press and hold the CONNECT button on the WL2
card until the yellow LINK diode starts flashing quickly.
After the correct pairing of the WL2 card with the router, the card will restart automatically. A
correctly paired card will connect to the router, which is signaled by the yellow LINK diode lighting up.
4.2. SMART CONFIG method
Configuring the connection by this method does not require physical access to the router. It is necessary to
use a smartphone with the WL2 Config application installed.
The application is available for download from the GooglePlay and AppStore stores.
