CHANGING THE FUEL TYPE
**** CAUTION ****
EQUIPMENT DAMAGE - Do not make any fuel adjustments or
governor adjustments until all pressure readings are in compli-
ance with specification. See fuel pressure charts (tables 1, 2,
and 3).
These engine/generator sets are very easy to convert between
LP or NG. As the engine timing is controlled by the ECU on the
engine you only need to tell it what fuel you want to operate on.
In the customer connection box there is a fuel selection terminal.
Connecting or disconnecting this terminal from the ground
terminal next to it will tell the engine ECU what type of fuel you
are operating on. Without the jumper installed the engine ECU
will program the engine to run on NG. With the jumper installed
the ECU will program the engine to run on LP. Once you have
either completed the jumper (for LP) or removed the jumper (for
NG) you will need to remove the negative battery cable from the
battery. Wait about 5 seconds and reattach the battery cable.
When you do this the ECU on the engine will detect which fuel
you wish to operate on and reprogram the timing and the mixture.
