Preface
Dear customer,
Thank you for purchasing this DRU product. Our
products have been developed and produced in
accordance with the highest quality, performance and
safety requirements.
This sheet contains the instructions for installing the
LUX Lignum element. For more support, please contact
your supplier.
Removing the packaging
When you are ready removing the packaging, the
packaging materials should be removed in accordance
with local regulations.
Placement and maintenance
Installing the LUX Lignum element as well as
mounting the light or hose set should be performed by
a recognized installer.
Do not place the element in a damp space.
Connect it according to the local regulations.
Regularly clean the element using a damp cloth.
When cleaning persistent contamination, use a non-
corrosive and non-abrasive agent.
Preparation
When a heater is designed to fit tightly in a chimney
breast made of incombustible and heat-resistant
material, the chimney breast must be aerated and de-
aerated. The ventilation element LUX Lignum is used for
this purpose. A chimney breast can be made of stone or
other material.
It is possible that you purchased a light set (figure 2) or
hose set (figure 3), along with the LUX Lignum element.
If so, perform the installation according to the following
description. If you do not have any of these sets, please
continue at item 3.
1. Light set LUX Lignum (figure 2)
Always use the prescribed lamp type in order to
guarantee a proper operation of the product.
Always switch off the voltage when replacing the
lamp.
The light set consists of two
slides
(
4
) and four
lamp
sets
(
5
). These lamp sets consist of a lamp holder with
connecting cable and a bulb (40W, 300ºC).
The standard supplied
grid
(
3
) should be removed first.
After this, the
lamp sets
are mounted to the
slide
, as
indicated by the arrows. Then, slide the whole unit in the
element
(
1
). The supplied parker can be used to secure
this
slide
.
2. Hose set LUX Lignum (figure 3)
The hose set consists of two
slides
(
6
), two hoses and eight
hose clamps. The standard supplied
grid
(
3
) should be
removed first. Then, slide the
slide
in the
element
(
1
). The
supplied parker can be used to secure this
slide
.
The two included hoses should be cut through the middle in
order to get four hose parts (we recommend fully extending
the hoses first). At both the left and right side, two hose parts
should be connected to the LUX Lignum element using the
supplied hose clamps. The other side of the hose parts is
connected to the heater’s convection stumps. Here, you
should also use the supplied hose clamps.
3. Assembly of the LUX Lignum element
LUX Lignum can be used in a chimney breast of stone or in
a chimney breast of plate material (e.g. Promatect).
The element is used for the aeration and de-aeration of the
chimney breast.
Make a rectangular hole of 375 mm to 100 mm (w x h) in
the chimney breast, at a location of your preference. We
recommend placing the underside of the LUX Lignum
element at a height of appr. 1.85 metres, in order to avoid
view of the inside.
Press the
base frame
(
1
) in the hole you just made. If the
LUX Lignum is placed on a high location, the opening must
point downwards. If the LUX Lignum is placed on a low
location, the opening must point upwards.
Loosely fix the stabilization plates (
2
) to the right and left
side (see figure 1), using the supplied parkers. The slotted
holes allow you to press the plates tightly against the
chimney breast and to secure them. The element will no
longer tilt. In order to secure it all, you can use the supplied
self-locking parker.
Finish the LUX Lignum element by pressing the
front
(
7
) in
the
base frame
(
1
), once the chimney breast is completely
finished.
Removal
When replacing or removing the element or lighting, you must
observe the regulations that apply.
