RESISTANCE MEASUREMENT AND CONTINUITY CHECK
WARNING:
MAKE CERTAIN THAT THERE IS NO VOLTAGE IN THE CIRCUIT OF COMPONENTS
BEING MEASURED.
1.
Set the range selector switch to the OHM (
Ω
) position.
2.
Insert the red test lead into the V/
Ω
terminal of the instrument and the black
test lead into the COM terminal.
3.
The display should indicate an over range condition (display “1”) when the
test leads are open.
4.
Short the test leads and make certain that the display reads zero and that the
buzzer also sounds.
5.
Connect the test leads to the circuit under test and take the resistance reading.
When the resistance measured reading is below 40
Ω
, the buzzer sounds. It is
continuity check.
DATA HOLD FUNCTION
The reading will be put on hold when the Data Hold Bottom Switch is pressed. If the
Bottom Switch is pressed once again, it will release the hold and allow a further
measurement.
PEAK HOLD FUNCTION
If you press the Peak Hold Bottom Switch, the peak reading will hold. Press once
again the Bottom Switch, it will release the hold and allow a further measurement.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT
If the “BAT” (
) symbol appears on the display, you must replace the battery.
1.
Remove the test leads from the instrument terminals and set the power switch
to the OFF position.
2.
Unscrew the battery compartment cover.
3.
Replace with a new 9V battery.
