Pod Assembly
Parts
Part Functions
Voltage pod (5536).
Accepts four 5-600 Vrms
(AC or DC), ±1000 Vpk channels A, B, C voltage,
plus neutral and ground. Neutral to ground
voltage range: 0.5 - 20 Vrms (AC or DC).
Current pod (5537).
Accepts four 0.01-5 Arms
and up to #12 AWG wires. Measurement range
allows 25 Apk.
Data cables.
Enables connection of
measurement pods to the HDPQ DataNode.
Cable length is 3” (0.9m).
Connection Guidelines
Refer to the appropriate connection diagram on pages 26 to 32 to
connect to the voltage/current input pods.
Step Action
1
Make sure all circuits are de-energized before making connections.
2
Connect the data cables. Plug the Pod interface cables into the
appropriate connectors on the rear panel of the instrument.
3
Remove the terminal protective cover(s) from the Input Pod(s). Unsnap
from the edge.
4
Route power wires in a safe manner in accordance with good practice
and local codes.
5
Connect the ground wire first, before making any other connections.
6
Connect power source to the Voltage Input pod. Attach phase A, B,
and C plus Neutral, if applicable, to the screw terminals on the Voltage
Input Pod(s) (5-600 Vrms, up to #12 AWG wire).
Be sure to observe the voltage specifications.
7
Connect power source to the applicable type Current Input pod.
Screw Terminals:
Attach phase A, B, and C plus Neutral, if applicable, to the screw
terminals on the Current Input Pod(s) (0.01-5 Arms, up to #12 AWG
wire).
Pass Through:
Pass the CT secondary conductors (0.01-5 Arms and up to #12 AWG
wire) through current tubes located on the face of the Input Pod.
Be sure to observe the current specifications, as well as the arrow on
the Input Pod indicating the direction of current flow.
8
Replace the terminal protective cover(s) on the front of the
Input Pod(s).
9
Turn the instrument on by pushing the power switch.
