Installing External Ferrite Clamps
Introduction
This section describes how to install an external ferrite clamp-on (P/N 115346-G1) that
is required when the 61000 mainframe is configured with more than 2 modules. When
the mainframe is equipped with more than 2 modules this filter is required for any slots
that are configured for modules 61MVS, 61MVB, or 61MDIN to meet emissions/
immunity compliance requirements. For these factory configurations, a ferrite clamp-
on is supplied for each applicable module to be installed over factory or customer-
supplied wires as described in this section.
Warning
Disconnect all power sources connected to the instrument before installation of filter
parts.
Caution
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with emissions and/or immunity
requirements. The ferrite clamp-on must be installed before operating the equipment
since failure to do so may result in undesired interference.
Installation
Procedure
61MVB Module
STEP 1 : The clamp-on ferrite (P/N 115346-G1) is supplied with both halves secured.
Unsnap the halves of the ferrite clamp-on and open it.
STEP 2 : Place ferrite clamp-on over all wires to the module so that all wires pass
through the center.
STEP 3 : Snap the ferrite clamp-on closed until it is fully secured.
