Sensing head Polytron SE Ex HT M
●
After having switched-off the voltage open the terminal box of the sensing head
and remove the upper section.

Disconnect the sensor leads from the terminals 1, 2, and 3.

Remove old sensor and replace it by a new sensor.
Shorten sensor cables to 85 mm and cut-off the isolation approx. 8 to 10 mm.

Screw in new sensor and secure it with locking sealant e.g. Loctite No. 221.
To maintain the ingress protection IP 65 and for reasons of explosion protection
observe that the sensor's silicone gasket is tightly fitted.

Screw sensor leads at terminals:
Terminal 1 - brown lead
Terminal 2 - yellow lead
Terminal 3 - black lead
Terminal 4 is not connected

Securely fit the cover to the body of the enclosure and tighten the cover fixing
screws by a torque of 3.5 Nm. Make sure the enclosure is free of dust and the si-
licone gasket is secured between the body and the cover.

Switch on power of the controller resp. insert the corresponding channel module.

Observe warm-up time of the new sensor of about 10 minutes.

Start the calibration procedure, page 44 – after each sensor replacement.
Attention:
For the reasons of explosion protection disassembly (opening and closing) of the Ex-
Sensor LC M itself is only allowed by the Service of Dräger Safety using a special
tool.
