The marking for the visors is engraved. It has the following
meaning:

Use
3.1
Prerequisites for use
Before initial use, the operator/user must ensure the following
(see European Directive 89/656/EEC):
z
The fit has to be impeccable to ensure propersealing and
protection.
z
The personal protective equipment must be compatible
with all other types of personal protection equipment worn
at the same time (e. g. protection jacket).
z
The personal protective equipment must be suitable for the
workplace conditions in question.
z
The personal protective equipment must meet ergonomic
and health requirements of the respective wearer of
respiratory protective equipment.
z
The visor must be selected and approved for the intended
application.
3.2
Preparation for use
To make sure the fire helmet fits correctly, the following items
must be adjusted properly:
z
Wearing height (see chapter 3.2.1 on page 19)
z
Harness (see chapter 3.2.2 on page 19)
z
Support ring (see chapter 3.2.3 on page 19)
If the helmet is used as part of a mask/helmet combination, the
mask pockets of the mask/helmet adapter must be adjusted as
well (see chapter 3.2.10 on page 21). In this case, Dräger
recommends a specific donning sequence to ensure the full
face mask and fire helmet are correctly coordinated and fit
properly (see chapter 3.3 on page 21).
All other preparations are optional.
3.2.1
Adjusting the helmet wearing height
z
Loosen or tighten the hook-and-loop fastener with the red
marking.
3.2.2
Adjusting the harness (head strap)
1. Don the fire helmet and close the chin strap.
2. Adjust the length of the neck strap with the buckles until
both neck straps fit snugly.
3. Adjust the chin strap length until the chin strap rests
properly under the chin. Close the hook-and-loop fastener.
3.2.3
Adjusting the support ring
1. If necessary, insert the
padding strips into the
support ring and attach the
sweatband to the support
ring as well.
2. Don the fire helmet and
close the chin strap.
3. Turn the adjusting wheel
while pressing it up until the
support ring fits snugly
against your head.

WARNING
The protective effect of the fire helmet is achieved only
when the fire helmet fits perfectly, wearing height,
harness and support ring are properly adjusted and the
chin strap is closed. Only wear the fire helmet when it
is fully assembled. All attachments must be properly
secured to the fire helmet.
NOTICE
Adjust the comfort net to make sure the edge of the
open visor does not block the field of view.
NOTICE
Adjust the harness so that the padding does not cover
the ears.
