5. Installation and initial startup
Unpack Dosell and insert six new 1.5V AA batteries (not
included) in the battery compartment on the back. Make
sure that the batteries are inserted in accordance with the
plus and minus markings inside the battery compartment.
Dosell will not work if no batteries are present, even
though they are not normally used. They provide backup
power that automatically takes over if the mains voltage is
lost, e.g. in the event of a power failure. Use only alkaline
AA batteries (non-rechargeable batteries).
If Dosell’s additional functions are to be used, there must be mobile coverage at the
location where Dosell is mounted since the GSM network is used to send notifications to
recipients.
Attention
Dosell should be centrally located so that its sound and light signals are always
noticed. In a home environment, the bedroom or kitchen are good locations. Avoid
placing Dosell in direct sunlight as this could make it harder to see the light signals.
5.1 Mounting Dosell on the wall
Tools needed to mount Dosell on the wall:
•
Drill
•
Screws and, if needed, suitable wall plugs
•
Manual or electric screwdriver
•
Spirit level
Screw the bracket to the wall on which Dosell is to be mounted, using suitable wall plugs
if needed. The person installing the device must ensure that the wall is strong enough to
bear the weight of the device.
Use a spirit level to check that the bracket is level. The arrow on the bracket should point
upwards. You can use the holes or the slots in the bracket depending on what screws
you are using.
If preferred, the bracket can also be attached with double-sided mounting tape (not
included). If so, it is very important to choose a tape that will bear Dosell’s weight with
a good margin. Make sure that the surface where the tape is placed is smooth and
very clean.
