2  Product description

2.1  Intended use

The ED250 is an electromechanical operator used 
exclusively for opening and closing interior or exterior 
swing doors.

The ED250 in-ground operator is packaged in a cement 
case for in-ground floor installations. 
For double swing doors, two cement cases are supplied.

2.2  ED250 full energy operator

ED250 is supplied as a full energy operator.
The operator can be configured as a low energy 
operator by parameter adjustment.

WARNING

For low energy applications, ED250 parameters 
must be adjusted to meet ANSI/BHMA A156.19 
specifications. Reference:
•  Chapter 17, Parameters
•  Chapter 16, ANSI/BHMA standards

2.4  Cement case enclosure

The cement case enclosure is listed and labeled to: 
•  UL50, NEMA 4 water resistant enclosure
•  CSA 22.2

2.5  Floor threshold

1.  Threshold to cover cement case and blockout is not 

supplied with the ED250 in-ground package. 
Threshold installation and maintenance is customer 
responsibility. Refer to Chapter 8 for threshold 
maintenance.
