12. Mounting
12.1. Selecting the Mounting Site
The location of the DPM 1 substantially affects its functionality. For this reason please
observe the following points:
• The DPM 1 is designed exclusively for ceiling mounting.
• Do not install the DPM 1 in the immediate vicinity of heat sources such as e.g. lamps
or radiators.
• Do not install the DPM 1 near moving objects such as ventilators.
• Please ensure that the DPM 1 is not exposed to strong air flows as these might be
registered as movements.
• Attach the DPM 1 only to surfaces free from vibration.
• Please ensure that the twilight sensor is not exposed to a direct light source as this
might result in undesired switching.
• The scanned area should not be restricted by large objects such as e.g. furniture.
• If only small or few movements are to be detected, then a time delay, configured at
the channel generator, can prevent the premature switching off of the lighting.
12.2. Type of Mounting
The DPM 1 can be either surface-mounted, using the mounting plate supplied, or flush-
mounted in an installation box (dia. 68 mm). In both cases the fixing screws supplied
can be used.
13. Connections
Putting into service may only be carried out by an authorized, trained technician. Follow
the connection diagram when installing. All leads to be connected must be dead.
Connections between the Dupline signal and earth potential will cause malfunctions
and are not permissible. Check for the correct polarity of the Dupline signal. In order to
meet the requirements for protective low voltage, VDE0100, Part 410, should be ob-
served and put into practice during installation.
An additional input signal of 0...30 V AC/DC may be input at terminals E2/E2. The
DPM 1 will recognize the signal as "active" if the potential difference between the two
terminals of the input is approx. 3 V or above and will generate a Dupline output signal
at channel 8.
