INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
• To put out any flames, cover the pot or pan using a lid. Do not use
water.
• Salt, sugar and powders can scratch the cooking hob. Remove any
residues with a cloth or scraper when the hob is warm.
• Never place detergents, objects or inflammable, explosive or defor
-
mable substances in the recess under the hob. To avoid excess heating
of objects placed under the hob, a separator must be fitted (e.g. made
of wood).
• Do not place cutlery, lids and metal objects in general or magnetized
objects (e.g. credit cards) on the hob; they could become very hot or be
damaged.
• Unopened tins of food placed directly on the hob may explode.
• Periodically check that the ventilation openings under the hob are not
clogged.
• Avoid hard solid objects falling on the cooking hob. The surface can
be damaged by sharp objects falling on it.
• Do not prepare food wrapped in aluminium foil or in plastic. When co
-
oking in a bain-marie, take care as in the absence of water the hob and
the pot could be damaged.
• Do not install the hob near gas or kerosene stoves.
• In the presence of liquid between the base of the cooking vesel and
the cooking area, steam pressure could build up and the pan could be
thrown off the cooking area. Keep the cooking areas and the base of the
cooking vessels dry.
• Take care not to place pans with an unstable or deformed bottom on
the heating surfaces in order to avoid accidences by spillage or over-
flowing of fluids. Do not switch on the cooking areas without containers.
