HINGE ADJUSTMENT INSTRUCTIONS
PLAYMAKER™/PLAYMAKER™ II KNEE BRACE with Polycentric Hinge
Indications for use:
The DonJoy Playmaker/Playmaker II brace with Polycentric Hinge
is designed to support the knee following mild MCL and/or LCL instabilities, mild ACL
and/or PCL instabilities, and meniscal repairs. Soft-good/semi-rigid designed to restrict
motion through elastic or semi-rigid construction.
Contraindications:
Moderate to Severe ligament instabilities. Do not use if you are
allergic to any of the materials contained in this product. Your brace comes with 10°
extension stops installed. To change the installed stops, first completely remove the
screw as shown. Then removethe stops. Insert the new stops, align with the holes in the
hinge plate, then reinsert the screw. Using a Phillips head screwdriver, ensure that the
screws are seated in the recess and completely tightened. Both medial and lateral stops
must be identical in degree.
Extension Stops: 0°, 10°, 20°, 30°, and 40°.
Flexion Stops: 0°, 45°, 60°, 75°, and 90° (no flexion stops are installed upon shipment)
PLAYMAKER WITH IROM HINGE
Indications for use:
The DonJoy Playmaker with Irom Hinge is designed to support the
knee following meniscal repairs and ACL/ PCL reconstructions. Soft-good/semi-rigid
designed to restrict motion through elastic or semi-rigid construction.
Contraindications:
Activities requiring full range of motion. Do not use
if you are allergic to any of the materials contained in this product.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR HINGE ADJUSTMENT
Press down, slide out, and lift up the hinge security latch. Rotate the cover until
the desired flexion or extension pin is exposed. Remove the pin and place it in
the desired degree setting. Rotate the cover so that the security latch is past
the pin and replace the latch. To convert from the IROM to polycentric hinge,
remove all straps that cover the hinge bar. Remove IROM hinge bar and replace
with polycentric hinge bar. Reapply straps

INTENDED USER PROFILE:
The intended user should be a licensed medical professional, the patient or the patient’s caregiver. The user should be able to read, understand and be physically capable
to perform all the directions, warnings and cautions provided in the information for use.
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS:
• Loss of circulation, patient discomfort and patient re-injury are potential effects caused by device failure. • ROM settings should not be changed without supervision of a medical professional. • This
product must be prescribed and fitted by a healthcare professional. • The frequency, duration of use and directions for use should be determined by your healthcare professional. • If pain, swelling,
changes in sensation or other unusual reactions occur while using this product, you should contact your doctor immediately. • Do not use over open wounds. • The support should be snug but not
impair circulation. • Do not use the device if it is damaged and/or the packaging has been opened. NOTE: Contact manufacturer and competent authority in case of a serious incident arising due to
usage of this device.

APPLICATION INFORMATION
• Unfasten and loosen the straps at the thigh and calf.
• Pull the Sleeve onto the leg using the loops at the top of each hinge bar.
If using Wraparound version, simply wrap around leg and fasten over the
front of the leg. Position the Sleeve so that the hinges are parallel to each
other, and the top of the circular cut-out aligns with the top of the kneecap.
• Fasten the lower calf strap first (#1), then the upper thigh strap (#2)
ACL CONFIGURATION SLEEVE VERSION ONLY
• With the knee bent at 45°, push both condyles (hinges) toward the back of
the leg, as shown.
• Maintaining the position of the hinges, secure the lower thigh strap (#3).
• Next, tighten the upper calf strap (#4)
PCL CONFIGURATION SLEEVE VERSION ONLY
• Maintaining the position of the hinges, secure the upper calf strap (#3).
• Draw the hinges forward slightly before fastening the front thigh strap (#4).
Do not pull the hinges beyond midline of the leg
CI CONFIGURATION SLEEVE AND WRAPAROUND VERSIONS
• With the knee bent at 45°, push both condyles (hinges) toward the back of
the leg, as shown.
• Maintaining the position of the hinges, secure the lower thigh strap (#3)
and then the upper calf strap (#4) on the back of the leg
