Apply the brace by centering the Posterior (Rear) Section
(Figure I)
at the posterior midline so the inferior portion of the belt is just superior to the crease in
the buttocks
.
f
Wrap the Belt Wings anteriorly, approximately 1” (2.5 cm) above the greater trochanter (widest part of the hips) and secure the hook and loop attachment
on the anterior (front) side of the patient.
(Figure J)
f
Before tightening the brace make sure the Posterior (Rear) Section is positioned evenly on both sides of the patient. In order to achieve optimal comfort and
fit, it may be necessary to readjust and reposition the two (2) Belt Wings to the Posterior (Rear) Section.
f
To apply compression, grasp the Pull Tab with the thumb and pull away from the body until reaching the desired compression, then secure the hook portion of
the Pull Tab to the Belt Wing.
