Backplane Installation
To install the DECrepeater 90FA in the DEChub 90 backplane, perform the
following procedure:
1.
Remove the back cover (if necessary).
a.
Insert a small screwdriver into the top mounting hole located on the
cover.
b.
Lift the internal latch with the screwdriver and pull the cover away and
down from the top of the unit (Figure 3–1).
2.
Install the DECrepeater 90FA into slot 7 or 8 of the backplane.
Place the lower mounting tab, located on the back of the repeater, into slot 7
or 8 of the backplane (Figure 3–4).
3.
Rock the repeater into place. You will hear a click when the repeater is
secured in the slot.
4.
Supply power to the backplane if this is a new installation.
5.
Connect the AUI cable to port 2, if required by the application.
6.
Attach the fiber-optic cables to port 1, if required by the application.
The DECrepeater 90FA is now installed.
Note
The DECrepeater 90FA can be installed into or removed from the
DEChub 90 backplane while power is supplied to the backplane
(hot swap).
