Power or Fan Failures
Indications
When a power failure or fan failure occurs, the following
conditions exist:
The on/off switch is on.
The green DC OK LED above the on/off switch is off.
No power is present.
The red fan failure LED below the on/off switch may be on or
off, depending on the failure.
If the unit has powered up properly, the following settings exist:
The on/off switch is on.
The green DC OK LED is on.
The red fan failure LED is off.
NOTE
Record the condition of LEDs before the unit is
powered down.
If the unit has been powered down, you must wait 60
seconds before the unit can be powered up again.
Fan Failure
LED On
If the red fan failure LED is on, the following FRUs are suspect:
System fan
Impingement fan
Perform the following steps. If you replace an FRU, power up
the unit; if the problem persists, go on to the next step unless
instructed otherwise.
Before you start, make sure the on/off switch is off and all power
cable connections are secure.

Disconnect the cable at connector J4 on the regulator module
(Figure 6–1).
