Unit does not connect to
host PC or a network
Incorrect cable type or defective
cable.
Ensure USB 2.0 cable in use, less
than 5 meters (~16 ft). Unit
arrived with USB 2.0 cable 2
meters (~6 ft) long.
Excessive USB cable length.
USB 2.0 cable should not exceed 5
meter (~16 ft) length.
Host PC has lost, or could not
establish, a USB connection with
the QUANTUM DS unit.
Turn off the QUANTUM DS unit
and leave the PC powered on.
Wait 5 seconds and then turn the
QUANTUM DS unit back on.
Listen for a “chime” on the host PC,
indicating that the host PC has
established a new USB connection
with the QUANTUM DS.
Software driver missing, corrupt,
or not loaded.
Monitor software driver using
Device Manager.
Uninstall/reinstall driver as needed.
PC firewall is blocking the
network connection.
Follow configuration instructions
for PC and/or firewall software.
“Lost Connection” - USB
disconnection during idle
periods.
Outdated software.
Contact application provider to
ensure latest version software in
use.
