Overheating of Engine
Under extreme driving conditions, the engine temperature may temporarily be raised above the normal mark on the gauge. If
this situation should occur:
Turn off the A/C. If the temperature remains high and reaches the red mark on the gauge, then:
1.Stop the vehicle in a safe place, and leave the engine running for several minutes at idle speed until the reading of the water
temperature gauge returns to the normal range.
2. If the temperature does not return to normal, please check the following items:
a) Visually check and verify whether the water pump belt and belt pulley show signs of damage, or if the drive belt is loose and
slipping. Also check the working condition of the fan when the engine is running. If anything is found to be wrong, either make
adjustments or call a breakdown service. Contact a DFSK service centre as soon as possible.
b) Check the coolant level in the radiator header tank, if the level is below the “LOW” line, please examine the radiator hoses and
water pump for any evidence of a leak. If a leak is found, do not run the engine until the leak has been resolved.
c) If no leak is found, top up the coolant as required.
(Note: coolant should be topped up with antifreeze to avoid freezing in cold weather)
Note: - If a coolant leak is seen or heard; you should stop the vehicle and turn off the engine immediately and
allow it to cool down. If not, you should open the bonnet and check if the coolant is boiling. If it is, turn the
engine off and allow the engine to cool before making the checks detailed above.
