Chapter 5 Ports and Connectors
Cooling Fan Connectors
The fan connectors are used to connect cooling fans. The cooling fans will provide adequate
airflow throughout the chassis to prevent overheating the CPU and system board components.
BIOS Setting
The Advanced menu (“Super IO” submenu) of the BIOS will display the current speed of the
cooling fans. Refer to Chapter 7 - BIOS for more information.

Mini PCI Express Slot
The Mini PCIe socket is used to install a Mini PCIe card. This socket provides PCIe and USB
signals and can support common Wi-Fi and Bluetooth cards or mobile broadband cards.
mSATA Slot (full-size)
The full-size mSATA slot supports SATA III (6Gb/s) transmission rate and is used to connect an
mSATA card. It can expand the system’s storage capacity.
PCI Express x4 Slot
Install PCI Express cards such as network cards or USB expansion cards that comply to the
PCI Express specifications into the PCI Express x4 slot.
