3.1.2.4 Quick Power On Self Test
This field speeds up Power On Self Test (POST) whenever the
system is powered on. The BIOS will shor ten or skip some check
items during POST. To attain the shortest POST time, select “Fast”.
3.1.2.5 First Boot Device, Second Boot Device, Third Boot Device and
Boot Other Device
Select the drive to boot first, second and third in the “First Boot
Device” “Second Boot Device” and “Third Boot Device” fields
respectively. The BIOS will boot the operating system according to
the sequence of the drive selected. Set “Boot Other Device” to
Enabled if you wish to boot from another device.
3.1.2.6 On-Chip LAN Boot ROM
Set this field to Enabled to use the boot ROM (instead of a disk
drive) to boot-up the system and access the local area network
directly. If you wish to change the boot ROM’s settings, type the
<Ctrl> and <S> keys simultaneously when prompted during boot-
up. Take note: you will be able to access the boot ROM’s program
(by typing <Ctrl> and <S>) only when this field is enabled.
