TYPICAL INSTALLATION

WARNING:

ALWAYS turn compressor OFF, disconnect from power source, and drain all pres-

sure from system before servicing.

Note:

Air supply must be dry enough to avoid ice formation at temperatures below 35°F (2°C).

Note:

These products are designed specifically for compressed air service only.

Note:

Use a thread sealer or Teflon® tape on all male threads.

1.  Securely mount the air cleaner/dryer in a vertical position as close as possible to air tool
connection using the mounting bracket supplied with the unit.

Note:

Air flow must be in same direction as arrows on top of the unit. Verify the arrow points to the

outlet (F).

2.  System piping should be 3/8” minimum. Avoid using unnecessary fittings, couplings, etc., that
  restrict the flow of air.
3.  Remove the dryer bowl (D) by pushing in towards the filter body, turning counterclockwise and
  then pull bowl down.
4.  Pour the bag of desiccant (included) into the bowl, gently shake or tap the bowl to settle the
desiccant. Fill to within 1/2” from the top of the bowl. Avoid getting any of the desiccant in the
  center tube.
5.  Reinstall the bowl on the filter body by lining up the tabs, pushing the bowl in towards the filter
body and turning clockwise to lock into place. Make sure the bowl is tight before pressurizing
  the unit.
6.  The coalescing filter bowl (C) is supplied with the filter element pre-installed.
7.  Make sure the air hose or air line used to connect the air cleaner/dryer outlet (F) is clean to
prevent contamination of the cleaned air. Connect the air supply to the inlet port (E).
8.  Turn on the air supply and check for any air leaks.

OPERATION

WARNING:

ALWAYS depressurize the unit before removing the bowl. Personal injury and/or

property damage could occur. If bowl is difficult to remove, it may be under pressure.

1.  Before pressurizing system, make certain the coalescing bowl (C) and the dryer bowl (D) are
securely locked into the filter body.
2.  Check that all connections are tight. A small leak will substantially reduce the performance
of your compressor. If you suspect a leak, spray a small amount of soapy water around the
area with a spray bottle. If bubbles appear, retighten or reseal the connection. Do not

 overtighten.

MAINTENANCE

1.  Before each use, drain moisture from the coalescing bowl before each use by turning the drain
valve (G) so that the arrow points downward. Make sure the system pressure is 10 psig or less.
2.  The only two items that require servicing on the air cleaner/dryer is replacement of the desiccant
when the desiccant turns pink and replacement of the filter element when the service indicator
  (A) pops up.

  DESICCANT REPLACEMENT

  a.  Turn off the air supply to the air filter/dryer and drain air pressure from the system.

b.  Remove the dryer bowl (D) by pushing in towards the filter body, turning counterclockwise

      and then pull bowl down.
  c.  Empty the used desiccant.
  d.  Pour new desiccant into the bowl, gently shake or tap the bowl to settle the desiccant. Fill to
within 1/2” from the top of the bowl. Avoid getting any of the desiccant in the center tube.
  e.  Reinstall the bowl on the filter body by lining up the tabs, pushing the bowl in towards the
filter body and turning clockwise to lock into place. Make sure the bowl is tight before
      pressurizing the unit.

COALESCING FILTER REPLACEMENT

  a.  The service indicator on the coalescing filter indicates when the filter element needs to be
changed. When the service indicator (A) pops up, the filter element must be replaced.
  b.  Turn off the air flow to the air cleaner/dryer and drain pressure from the system.
  c.  Remove the coalescing bowl (C) by pushing in towards the filter body, turning

counterclockwise and then pull bowl down.
  d.  Unscrew the used filter element by turning counterclockwise.
  e.  Install a new filter by gripping the bottom of the filter element and screw it clockwise into the

FIG. 1

filter body. The filter can be damaged if foam coating is compressed during installation.

NOTE:  filter elements cannot be cleaned. A new filter must be used.

f.   Reinstall the bowl on the filter body by lining up the tabs, pushing the bowl in towards the

filter body and turning clockwise to lock into place. Make sure the bowl is tight before
      pressurizing the unit.
3.  Before placing the unit in service, make sure both bowls are reinstalled and securely locked in
 place.

WARNING:

Never operate the air filter/dryer without the bowls locked securely in place.
