Operating the device
The Devine Roadster is a practical battery-powered speaker suitable for any application where speech
and/or music needs to be amplified. For optimal use of this device, it is recommended to read the following
tips thoroughly.
General use
The Devine Roadster is equipped with a tablet holder slot, located on the top of the device. A wide range of
tablets, smartphones, and other media players, with or without a protective cover, can be placed in this slot
during use.
As long as the media player is not connected to the speaker via a cable, it can be placed vertically as well as
horizontally in the holder. When transporting the Roadster, it is recommended to remove the media player
from the holder.
USB port
The Roadster is equipped with a USB charging socket, which is located on the side of the device. This
socket is designed for supplying power to a media player like a tablet or smartphone. This socket is not
designed for playing music and/or transferring data.
The USB charging socket has a power capacity of 5 volts, 1 A. This is usually sufficient to supply enough
power or in any case ensure the battery is kept fully charged while playing music and/or videos.
Bear in mind that using this output will have an impact on the battery life of the Roadster’s built-in battery.
Please note: because every multimedia manufacturer has their own set of requirements for device charging,
not all players will function with the Roadster’s USB charging socket. If the 1A power this charging socket
supplies is not sufficient, your device will not charge. Please consult your media player’s user manual for
more information regarding minimum charging requirements.
Fixed handles
The Roadster has two fixed handles located on the top so it can be lifted and carried easily. Always use
these handles when lifting and moving the speaker.
Extendible handle and trolley handle
The extendible handle is easy to use and can be retracted when not in use to save space during transport
and storage. Do not lift the speaker by means of this handle, which is located in the rear. To extend the
handle, push the button on the top and pull it up and towards you at the same time. The handle will extend in
three segments and click into place. You can then use the handle to move the speaker like a trolley, thanks
to the two in-line wheels.
To retract the trolley handle, push the button on the top again and push the handle down, away from you.
Once completely retracted, the handle will click in place.
Using the trolley system
The in-line wheels on the Roadster are designed to help you move the device over relatively flat, even
surfaces such as an indoor floor, an asphalt path, etcetera. It is strongly recommended not to wheel the
device over obstacles like kerbs, steps, high thresholds or poorly maintained pathways. This can cause
serious damage to the wheels. If the obstacle seems too high, lift the device and carry it over the obstacle
using the fixed handles.
It is not recommended to transport the device over soft, loose surfaces like grassy fields, gravel, sand, and
so forth.
