DI box troubleshooting

If you encounter any problems with your DI box, consult this troubleshooting section for possible solutions. If 
this troubleshooting section does not solve your problem, contact your dealer for more information and help.

This troubleshooting section contains the most frequently occurring problems and is not a complete 
collection of possible faults, defects and solutions. This troubleshooting section applies to DI boxes. It is 
possible that the problems, causes and solutions described below do not apply to your situation as product 
details may vary from product to product.

Incoming sound level on my 
mixer/interface is too low

Source signal output too low

Increase source signal output level

Attenuation too high

Decrease attenuation to -0 dB

Incoming sound level on my 
mixer/interface is too high

Source signal output too high

Decrease source signal output 
level

Attenuation too low

Increase attenuation to -20 dB

Strange buzzing or humming noise
present in the sound

Ground problem

Activate ground lift switch

No sound entering my mixer / 
interface at all

Defective XLR cable

Replace XLR cable and check 
again if there is still no signal

Defective instrument cable

Replace instrument cable and 
check again if there is still no 
signal present

Sound source does not produce 
sound

Check if the sound source is 
producing any sound at all by 
connecting a speaker or 
headphones

DI Box power indicator LED will 
not light up when power switch has
been turned on

Battery empty

Replace battery with a new one

No battery installed

Install new battery

Phantom power not activated on 
mixing console

Activate the phantom power button
on your mixing console to power 
the DI-box without using a battery
