Use of the device

The Devine DI-50 is an active DI box, used to transform unbalanced high impedance audio signals to
balanced audio signals. This makes the signal more suitable to travel long distances to mixing consoles or
audio interfaces. By doing this, the chance of audio disturbance and unwanted noise is decreased
significantly.

The Devine DI-50 is a battery powered device and requires a 9V battery (like the one which is included in
delivery) or phantom power to operate properly. Because of the battery powered and phantom powered
design, no additional bulky power adapters are needed on stage or where you wish to use it. Furthermore,
this type of powered device is more likely to keep the volume and quality of the audio signal on an optimal
level, compared to DI boxes which are equipped with passive circuitry.

The DI-50 will work on a standard 9V battery and will work for several hours. Once the electronics of the DI-
50 notice that phantom power from a mixer or audio interface is present, the 9V circuitry will be disconnected
and the device will automatically switch to phantom powered operating mode. Of course the device can also
be used without battery installed if it will only be used in combination with a device capable of supplying
phantom power.

The phantom power voltage may have a value b18V to +48 V DC in order for the DI-50 to work
properly. If the correct phantom power voltage is present, the Power LED will be lit continuously.

The lifespan of a battery installed in the DI-50 may vary, as the battery characteristics are different for each
manufacturer. The included battery is only meant for testing purposes (testing the product upon arrival,
practicing) and should be replaced for a new one when using the device for critical applications such as
recording or live performance.

The DI-50 is equipped with a 6.35 mm TS jack input and an unbalanced 3-pin XLR input, suitable for devices
