Converting a Heater to LPG (I3P)
:
1
If the heater is already installed, switch OFF the gas and electricity. Remove the heater and place
at ground level.
2
Remove the injector and replace with the injector sized for propane. See Chart 5.2.
3
Re-install the heater and connect gas and electrical supply.
4
Connect a gas pressure gauge to the operating pressure test point on the outlet of the gas valve.
5
Switch ON the heater. Read the operating pressure from the pressure gauge. This must be
adjusted to
25 mbar
.
6
Remove the seal on the governor adjusting screw. Turn the screw clockwise to increase the gas
pressure to 25 mbar (see Figure 5.2).
7
When 25 mbar operating pressure has been established, switch off the heater.
8
Remove the pressure gauge, replace the pressure test point screw and re-seal the governor
adjusting screw.
9
Replace or amend the heater data badge to indicate that the heater has been adjusted for LPG.
Converting a Heater to Natural Gas (I2H)
:
1
If the heater is already installed, switch OFF the gas and electricity. Remove the heater and place
at ground level.
2
Remove injector and replace with the injector sized for Natural Gas (I2H). See Chart 5.2.
3
Re-install the heater and connect gas and electrical supply.
4
Connect a gas pressure gauge to the operating pressure test point on the outlet of the gas valve.
5
Switch ON the heater. Read the operating pressure from the pressure gauge. This must be
adjusted to
15 mbar for I2H
heaters.
6
Remove the seal on the governor adjusting screw. Turn the screw anti-clockwise to reduce the gas
pressure.
7
When the correct operating pressure has been established, switch off the heater.
8
Remove the pressure gauge, replace the pressure test point screw and re-seal the governor
adjusting screw.
9
Replace or amend the heater data badge to indicate that the heater has been adjusted for Natural
Gas.
