Unit Runs but Excess Condensate Forms
POSSIBLE CAUSE
Poor air distribution
Unit airflow is too high
Unit is undersized
Sensor installation
Low refrigerant charge
REMEDY
Evaluate duct design and dehumidifier
location.
Evaluate system airflow.
(See section 5.3.1.1)
Re-evaluate unit sizing. Check for
initially neglected sources of heat or
humidity.
1) Assure that sensors are NOT
located near supply registers,
windows, heaters, saunas, etc.
2) Consider continuous blower
operation.
Evaluate charge

Frost Build-up on the Compressor or Suction Line
NOTE:
Thermal expansion valves on LW series dehumidifiers must be set to maintain a
proper superheat at the evaporator.
Frost build-up on the suction lines or the compressor can indicate lack of superheat.
Lack of superheat will create the damaging possibility of liquid flood back to the
compressor which will accelerate failure. Assure that expansion valves are set per the
minimum indicated superheat value in Figure 14.
