Denon Music Manager function
Denon Music Manager can be used for the operations described
below.
£
Displaying lists of and editing the tracks on the HDD
£
Editing playlists
£
Importing music files from a computer
£
Backing up the tracks on the HDD onto a computer
£
Restoring backed up data onto the CHR-F103
We recommend backing up the data recorded on the CHR-F103’s
HDD periodically. If the HDD should fail, the recordings you have
backed up can be retrieved.
Required recommended equipment and
environment for using Denon Music Manager
• Computer on which Windows XP Service Pack 2 is installed
• HDD with sufficient free space
• USB 2.0 connection terminal
Installing Denon Music Manager
Follow the instructions on the screen and click
“Next”.
Check the settings for installation, then finally click
“Install”.
• Installation is executed. A dialog box appears to indicate that
installation is finished.
Load the included CD-ROM (Denon Music Manager)
onto the computer.
• The installation wizard screen appears.
If the installation menu screen does not appear, open the CD-
ROM drive in “My Computer” and launch “SETUP.EXE”.

Click “Finish”.
• This completes installation.

Connecting to a computer
Once the computer has started up, connect it to the
PC CONTROL (USB) terminal on the CHR-F103’s
rear panel using a commercially available USB cable
(sold separately).
Turn on the CHR-F103’s power.
Turn on the power of the computer on which Denon
Music Manager is installed.
Leave the CHR-F103’s power off.

Select “PC Connect Mode” from “Others” on the
setup menu, then press
ENTER
.

Select “OK”, then press
ENTER

• “PC Connect Mode” is displayed.

Double-click the Denon Music Manager icon on the
computer to launch Denon Music Manager.

Once all operations are completed, turn off the CHR-
F103’s power.
After the power turns off, disconnect the USB cable.

NOTE:
• NEVER disconnect the USB cable or turn off the power of the
computer or the CHR-F103 while using Denon Music Manager.
Doing so could destroy the data on the HDD or damage the CHR-
F103 or the computer.
NOTE:
• When connecting a computer and the CHR-F103, do not use any
software other than Denon Music Manager.
Using any software other than Denon Music Manager could
destroy the data on the HDD or damage the CHR-F103.
Follow the instructions in the operating instructions
included on the Denon Music Manager’s CD-ROM to
perform the operations on the computer (data
backup, etc.).
