5.1. Before inserting the knife into the sharpening slot

Please read these operating instructions thoroughly before using the appliance. They contain important
information for your safety, as well as for the proper use and care of the appliance.
Plastic bags may pose a risk. To avoid risk of suffocation store bags out of reach of babies and young children.
A knife sharpener is not a toy. Keep it locked away from children!
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
Caution: knives sharpened with this device are VERY sharp!
Do not run your fingers along the sharpened blade. Please be careful when using this device to avoid injuries.
Any blades that cannot easily be inserted into the sharpening slot, e.g. scissors or other blades, should
not be sharpened with this device. This device is not suitable for wet sharpening.
This device can also be used to repair damaged or severely worn knives.
Only operate the appliance when the covers have been properly placed over the grinding wheels.
Before using the appliance for the first time: carefully remove the appliance and any accessories from the
packaging. Remove all of the packaging materials and film, as well as any protective films.
Check that the contents of the package are complete and inspect the contents for any damage.
If you discover that the contents of the package are incomplete or damaged, do not operate the appliance.
Return the appliance immediately to your dealer.
