Thank you for choosing this De’Longhi percolator. To get
the best results from your new percolator it is advisable to
read these instructions carefully before using the appliance.
This is the only way to ensure optimum results and maxi-
mum safety.

Using for the first time

Carefully unpack the percolator and remove all the packaging
material. Before using wash all of the removable parts (fig. 1) lid,
basket cover, filter basket and water tube, with warm soapy water,
rinse well. Do not immerse the percolator in water, simply rinse
out and wipe with a cloth and mild detergent if necessary. Do not
put in the dishwasher or use harsh, abrasive cleaners.
For the best tasting results prior to making coffee we recommend
that you percolate cold water only, without using coffee to remove
any dust which may still be inside the coffee maker. To do this fol-
low the directions below in ‘How to prepare the coffee’.

Installation

• Place the appliance on a working surface away from water taps

and sinks.

• Check that the mains supply corresponds to the voltage on the

appliance rating plate. Connect the appliance to a correctly-
earthed power socket (minimum rating 10A) only. The manufac-
turer declines all liability for any accidents due to the incorrect
earthing of the appliance.

• With the specially designed 360° power base and central con-

nector, you can now set the percolator on the base at any
angle, from any position. Release the cord from around the
base and adjust the length to reach the socket (fig. 2). Do not
leave loose cord hanging over the edge of the work surface.

• Please read safety warnings and electrical requirements before

using this appliance.

How to prepare the coffee

•  Remove the percolator lid, basket cover, filter basket and water

tube. Remove the percolator from the base unit before filling.

•  Fill with fresh clean cold water up to level for the number of

cups required (fig. 3). Do not overfill the appliance beyond the 6
or 12 cup mark (depending on model). On certain models, the
quantity of water can be seen in the water level indicator (fig.
3). Otherwise, check the graduated scale inside the appliance.

•  Place the tube correctly into the appliance and insert the filter

basket.
To improve brewing, we suggest you damp the basket before
inserting it into the tube (fig 4).
