Opening the Array Drawer

You must open the array inner drawer to access the drives and control modules. It is designed to open fully to 
provide complete access to all the drives and control modules.

Note:  

If you need to remove the array inner drawer completely from its shell when it is out of the M1000 

enclosure, see 

Releasing the Array Inner Drawer Safety Latch on page 25

.

Caution:  

The front panel is not designed as a handle. It can break if treated roughly. When opening the array 

inner drawer, do not pull on the front panel. Grip and pull the drawer by its top, bottom, or sides.

To open the array inner drawer:

1.  Push firmly on the array's front panel, releasing it quickly. See 

Figure 5

. This press-and-release motion 

releases the array inner drawer from its enclosure. It should spring open enough to provide access to grip the 
sides or bottom with your hands.
